OverflowEV

OverflowEV

Price promise

Full terms for the Pro price promise. They form part of our Terms of Service.

OverflowEV should pay for itself by putting spare solar into the car. If, over the promise period, the value of that solar (at your verified bill rates) is less than what you paid us for Pro, we credit the shortfall. This is about solar OverflowEV put in the car — not your whole electricity bill, and not grid charging you chose.

In plain English

  1. Stay on Pro from the day you subscribe until 30 June.
  2. In July we compare fees paid to us with solar-to-car kWh × your bill rates.
  3. If fees are higher, we credit the difference as free Pro months (rounded up, max 12). If you cancel at the end of June with credit still owing, we can refund what’s left instead.

Who can claim

  • Pro plan only. Basic and demo accounts are not included.
  • Stay subscribed from signup to 30 June. If you join later in the year, you only need to stay until 30 June, not a full year. Cancel before then and you can’t claim.
  • We only count the months you paid, and the savings in those same months.
  • One claim per site or household each year.
  • Claim in July, from the 1st to the 31st.

Your responsibility for accurate rates and bills

You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and up-to-date tariff and billing information for the OverflowEV site address. That includes rates you enter in Setup and any documents we request to verify a claim.

  • When we ask, you must promptly provide a recent electricity utility bill (or retailer invoice / equivalent statement) for the same address as your OverflowEV site, covering the claim period where possible.
  • The bill must show your usage rates clearly enough to verify time-of-use (TOU) periods (for example peak, off-peak, and shoulder) and, where relevant, solar feed-in. Supply / daily charges do not count toward savings.
  • You must not withhold, alter, or misrepresent rates, usage, plan changes, or household details. Incomplete, late, illegible, or inconsistent information is a valid reason for us to decline or reduce a claim.
  • Rates in Setup should match your bill within 10%. If they don’t, we use the verified bill rates. We use OverflowEV’s measured solar-to-car kWh; the bill is for cents per kWh, not for “my total bill went up.”
  • If you were on Amber, we use Amber’s actual interval rates where we can match them. If we can’t match them, that period may be excluded.
  • We may request additional evidence (for example a second bill, plan confirmation, or meter / NMI detail) before paying a claim. Failure to provide it within a reasonable time we set can end the claim.

The system had to be doing the job

  • Solar needs to be connected. Schedules-only doesn’t count.
  • Tesla or an OCPP charger had to be in control.
  • Your main mode should have been Solar+ (or Free Solar on classic). Don’t leave it on Off for the period you want counted.
  • Don’t pause the integrations for more than 14 days in a row.
  • We need enough solar-to-car charging to measure fairly. If you were subscribed for 60 days or more, we look for at least 60 days of it.
  • If another app was fighting OverflowEV, or the data is too patchy, we can decline the claim. That isn’t an automatic refund.

What we don’t cover

  • Not plugging in, or the car being away on sunny weekdays
  • Retailer price changes, moving house, or a new car
  • Grid charging you chose, like Charge Now or overnight top-ups
  • A low-sun stretch where the car was rarely home in daylight
  • Guesswork or “what you could have saved”
  • Claims based on unverified, estimated, or self-reported rates we can’t check against a bill

How we pay it

  • Usually as credit on your next invoices.
  • Free months = the shortfall divided by your monthly Pro price, rounded up, max 12.
  • We calculate the numbers from our records and your verified rates; you confirm. We can decline claims that look incomplete, shared, farmed, or not supported by the evidence requested.

By starting checkout and paying for Pro, you confirm you’ve read and accept these savings promise terms and the related section of our Terms of Service. This doesn’t take away rights you already have under the Australian Consumer Law.
